Proposal Outline:
The project aims to develop and deliver a radically improved process and technology for dynamic, non-invasive, cognitive ability-profiling (DCAPT).
Project partners are Brain+, a company specialized in cognitive training products, and the University of Copenhagen.
The commercial objective is to create a superior technology and become a leading provider of tools and services for cognitive ability profiling, assessment, and early deficit detection. For private individuals, employers, and the health care system.
The scientific objective is to improve and expand the theoretical models for experienced brain plasticity and how the brain adapts to changes induced by changed external or internal circumstances, and to create new normative ways of expressing and understanding the abilities of the working brain.
The project will build on a prototype technology already developed and conceptually tested in a mobile app training attention, memory, and executive functions. UCPH and Brain+ have used the prototype for an explorative study of dynamic cognitive profiling. This study forms the project’s scientific foundation.
Major innovation milestones in project include:
• Develop a way to collect and synthesize large volumes of performance data on mobile platforms in a manner easily communicated across network and systems (back-end, front-end, API)
• Develop a standard for expressing the cognitive ability and performance data in a suitable format suitable
• Develop sellable prototype services for personal cognitive profiling and early deficit detection as an online/app based service, tested with end-users, employers, and health care professionals, with a high market readiness.
