PROJECT DESCRIPTION

New professions and skills for e-infrastructures (INFRASUPP-4-2015). New Curricula Design for Skills and Professions Related to Big Data and Analytics.

Proposal Outline:

The process of defining new or updating existing university curricula for the e-infrastructure competences in big data and analytics, as well as raising awareness, promoting and implementing its adoption is of utmost importance. We consider that curricula and trainings will help reduce the skill force gap for this particular profile in one hand, as well as save huge amount of money for EU governments in operational efficiency in other hand, generated from this lack. The process of this profile definition through curricula and trainings, as well as its proper adoption through various partnerships and funding is the main goal of this project proposal.

PARTNER PROFILE SOUGHT

Required skills and Expertise:

Experts in: Applied Mathematics and Statistics (mathematics, probability models, statistical learning); Data Storage and Information Retrieval (data warehousing, high performance computing, visualization, uncertainty modelling, machine learning); Business Intelligence and Decision Making (Business Intelligence with Big Data, Business Process Modelling, Decision Support Systems in Big Data). This applies to partners from both academia and industry.

Description of work to be carried out by the partner(s) sought:

PROFILE 1: Getting involved in developing new university curricula for second cycle for e-infrastructure profile in Big Data and Analytics and contribute to its requirements definition; PROFILE 2: Organisation of Round Tables, Workshops, Dissemination of Project Results and Monitoring the overall curricula implementation; PROFILE 3: Carrying out some parts of the project such as: initiation, development implementation or monitoring and evaluation of newly defined curricula for the skill. PROFILE 4: Industry support and participation in development of higher education second cycle curricula related to Big Data and Analytics.
