PROJECT DESCRIPTION
HORIZON 2020: FCT-07-2014: PAN-EUROPEAN PLATFORM FOR SERIOUS GAMING IN THE AREA of CYBERSECURITY
Proposal Outline:
Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) and existing Dynamic Forensics Evaluation and Training (DFET) Partners (http://www.d-fet.eu) propose to expand on this work DFET thus aims to improve crime detection rates by providing scenario-based training in line with the dynamic nature of cybercrime. (Overall DFET aims to create a infrastructure framework which can share cyber training across Europe, and allow access to hands-on environments, no matter the physical location) and on the current partnership – through the Horizon 2020 Call, FCT-07-2014: Pan-European Platform for Serious Gaming, which aims to create new, immersive demonstration of simulations in mixed-reality environments, dynamically addressing physical threats and cyber-attacks. The proposed new project aims to extend DFET’s Cloud-based infrastructure with immersive environments which provide a complete end-to-end demonstration scenario, involving real-life network infrastructure and environments.
The project will be s focused on a defining the scenarios, and compiling these to three main layers:
- Immersive Interface. This involves a high engagement interface which is immersive and which can be used in group scenarios.
- Translation Engine. This converts the high-level user and group interactions into cloud infrastructure calls.
- Cloud Training Infrastructure. This involves the creation of real-life virtual instances, with real-life traffic and virtualized network flows.
