S-Strategy (Storage-Strategy) is a concrete strategy intended for the introduction of the today’s storage devices in the real European market in a massive way, with demonstration of the Business Case of the Aggregator/ESCO role. Thus, the proposal means a very specific regulation change in order to improve the competitiveness of the storage solution versus the current renewable plants (real or virtual) running without storage of energy, since the storage by itself cannot fight against a model supported by the current scheme of tariff and taxes.
The main objective of S-Strategy would be to validate the efficiency of energy storage systems, as well as the convenience of mixing technologies and their technical and economic feasibility in local distributed networks. Furthermore, both smart energy technologies and processes would be integrated in the real environment, in order to take advantage of the benefits they will bring to Society, in general, and to DSO, Aggregators, Prosumers and Markets, in particular.
Therefore, with the purpose of performing this ambitious challenge, a strong consortium must be formed. In this way, partners as Cities for the pilots (Smart cities with existing Smart Grid + DERs deployed, Cities with non-electricity networks like power to heat and/or power to gas / fuel solutions, etc.), Regulators, Local governments/Public Administration with Regulatory powers, Technical/Business Partners, Companies with Electric Vehicles Fleets, Social studies Company/ University, Manufacturers (Batteries, Sensors, Smart Appliances, etc.) or Data acquisition companies (IOT, Smart Home, local intelligence, etc.) would be welcome to join us.
